General Notes:
First trace of name is in 1500 in the Palatinate area. The Schlindwein crest is not real. The wine cup and fishing gaff come from the first Schlindwein mayor of Karlsdorf denoting that the family made wine and fished for a living. Most of the town of Karlsdorf worked with the mayor's horses, thence the horse on the crest. It was adopted by the local resturant and emblazons the front wall there. It is most interesting that Frederich was a Blacksmith and was supposedly the only one who could shoe the local Clydsdales and that Anna Maria always spoke of coming from the Palatinate from Frankfurt am Main.
Friedrich married Anna Maria Dietrich on 24 Nov 1872 in New York City, NY.
